North Fork Long Island is Dog Friendly and lovely to embrace nature

I loved visiting the North Fork recently in Long Island only about 1 hour from Brooklyn and you feel like you have escaped some of the hustle and bustle. We stayed an incredible airbnb home of an artist and one of the loveliest hosts.  We did some exploring over the few days which included visiting one of my new favorite places out there. We wanted something super dog friendly this airbnb was amazing because it was so dog friendly I loved it !

A gardeners paradise located on 14 scenic riverfront acres on the eastern end of Long Island, NY- if you are a garden lover like me and you love a beautiful setting with little antiques and other gift items you will love this place – I want to host a party here it is so beautiful ! Their garden shop OUTSIDE IN specializes in goods for the garden and home. You’ll find pottery and planters, organic herb, flower and vegetable seeds, garden tools, vintage decor, classic workwear and just plain fun stuff  – It’s a treasure hunters dream.  Learn more here :

We then went to visit some farms and we stopped at this winery – beyond all the nature and the beach you can go to these incredible wineries.  We stopped at Macari Vineyards because I was looking at the Northforker instagram and what did I find one of the most amazing mobile restaurants ever — a pizza truck that is so beautifully designed called  Avelino and the pizzas looked incredible ! The custom made pizza shop on wheels is a shipping container welded to a flatbed trailer, created by 22-year-old Eddie Macari, the youngest child of vineyard owner Joe Macari Jr. Get this : Some of the produce for the toppings will be grown inside the farm’s hothouse. The mozzarella is delivered weekly from Brooklyn’s Pecoraro Cheese. Red sauce is simply canned San Marzano tomatoes, crushed and salted. Macari Vineyards, 150 Bergen Ave., Mattituck, (631) 298-0100,

I want to thank Alane for some great tips of North Fork Guest House.

She told us to check out a super cute street called LOVE LANE that has some amazing gems from restaurants to this beautiful cheese house that almost transports you to Provence –

We also of course found an incredible ice cream shoppe – us being ice cream experts gave this place an A  check it out – it is in Riverhead and opened in 1953 and they use lovely local ingredients.

We drove to the tip called ORIENT where the ferries come and go … with a State Park and this lovely beach where the air was so fresh and it was so incredible and memorable.

There are so many places to visit in this area and I highly recommend it – I visited it in the past for weddings but never stayed there for a few days and really has so much to see so plan a trip.
