A few things about the ceremony, we had our ceremony in AQUINNAH at the GAY HEAD LIGHTHOUSE right on the cliffs. The lighthouse organization was extremely easy to work with – they gave us a time block of 5pm – 6pm in order to get married. They let us set up chairs which were delivered and organized and there were no worries. It was a bit windy for the hair but I didn’t care because we aced on the most gorgous day for for a wedding. I kept bothering Scott about the weather and stressing and then we had an incredible day. My father walked me down the aisle and Nina was our flower girl, my best friend Kerri’s daughter. It was something incredible to see my friend for 20+ years have her daughter walk down the aisle for us – it was very special. She was so funny and wore a sign that said Scott hear comes your bride 🙂 I found this on ETSY. There were so many wonderful things I found on ETSY. The men’s boutineers I found on ETSY as well. I love feathers and really wanted to incorporate them in. There is something about them with the history of the cliffs etc. that I thought was special to create this very natural and pretty decor. I also found on BHLDN by Anthropologie feathers dipped in gold that we tied together and made a heart from them. Also the binder that our officiant, ANN GEAGAN used had our names on it because I thought it would be in all the photos and I wanted something pretty. Ann also had a feather pin. ANN GEAGAN was an excellent officiant that I found through searching online. My best friend Lisa sang for our ceremony which made it so special. She sang FOR A THOUSAND YEARS when I walked down the aisle with my father and then later on Hallelujah which she adjusted to fit our names which was really great. Our musicians were also someone I found online – we had a husband and wife team of a violinist and guitarist. They were super easy to work with – you can find them by googling – Rebecca Barca – Tinus. We wanted our recessional song to be the theme of GAME OF THRONES which we love so much and they learned it for us. The ceremony was created by me and Scott – we wrote the whole thing together with Scott really editing it and making it run smoothly – we spoke about the history of the area, and thanked our parents which was super important and spoke about how we met and did the binding of the hands ceremony. After the ceremony, we did a photo in the heart and ideally our guests were supposed to be able to stay and enjoy the sites and take their own photos but there was so confusion with photography etc. and this is my only regret. It is very hard to have your event planner hat on and make sure all goes right but this was a bit regret for me. I wish our guests got to enjoy the music and sites more.
I thank Lisa Puccio Kobin for singing beautifully
