Scott and I decided to venture to Long Island City which is a quick day trip from Manhattan. We wanted to check out the area – the installation at PS1, 5pointz and more. We started at a street art mecca – http://5ptz.com . I definitely want to organize a tour one day of this place so I have more insight on all the artists. Every time you go you see something new and you see art being created right there !
Then across the way to PS 1 where on Saturdays they have a session with djs, beers on tap and more – This has always been one of my favorite summertime places in the city on the weekends – and I try to go year after year. It is a great place to chill and bring kids – there are usually little pools of water and other kids. And the art inside the gallery is really interesting to check out as well. I remember I brought my nephew when he was under 10 I want to say the same nephew is 21 and just went there to ck it out with his friends when they were just in town. Time flies. They change the outdoor installation every year – I love this year there was a bit of an ode to the CARAVAN.
Next stop LIC flea – I love these flea markets in Williamsburg and NYC …. this one had some great food & veggies to boot ! These guys were so sweet they were talking how they want more people to eat healthy by eating more veggies – so cute ! and we tried YUZU LEMONADE so delicious
Yep the farmers market had yummy purple peppers
Check out these guys ICE RIDERS – it is powered by the pedals turning Then we checked out the NOGUCHI museum which you should only go to if you like zen & serenity because there is a ticket price – it is pretty but if you are going to pay have time and really enjoy the life of the amazing Noguchi.
Then I LOVED the Socrates park – you have beautiful views of the city, sculptures were creating something amazing while we were there and I loved the installations they had – they had a chandelier in a tree house – it was so beautiful

I love this necklace I found at a fleamarket one time – it has been with me for over 10 + years now. I am a big supporter of MADE IN USA and have a ton of clothes from emerging designers but I also love the inexpensive value of FOREVER 21 – I also like the hunt – they have so much stuff – I love going through and finding something that could be under twenty dollars but look like something that might sell for triple or quadruple – so shirt by GAP love this comfy tee, shorts by Forever 21, shoes by Forever 21, earrings for FREE FLORA, bag from FREE PEOPLE, sunglasses from Marc Jacobs. I am hoping one day Forever 21 does a MADE IN USA section – I think it would be great to see that happen – until then I mix it up. These shoes are so comfortable and so cute and they were $20.00 – it is brillant.
My earring was from the FREE FLORA campaign – when I did PR to help an elephant stay out of the circus
